Abstract


Program Studi Fotografi, FSMR, ISI Yogyakarta merupakan satu-satunya perguruan tinggi seni yang mengajarkan fotografi cetak tua. Mata kuliah ini dijalankan dengan model Project Based Learning (PBL). Namun, analisis mengenai efektivitas PBL dalam mata kuliah ini dan atau mata kuliah praktikum lainnya secara umum belum dilakukan. Kesenjangan ini menjadi permasalahan utama yang akan dideskripsikan melalui penelitian ini. Teori atau konsep yang digunakan adalah tentang model PBL. Metode penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif Pameran Alternative Photographic Process Week (APHIC Week) #3 ‘Eksplorasa” yang dikelola dan diikuti oleh mahasiswa angkatan 2021. Tahapan penelitian dimulai dengan pengumpulan data, di antaranya berupa dokumen kegiatan pengelolaan pameran, karya seni yang dibuat mahasiswa, dan publikasi penyelenggaraan pameran. Selanjutnya, disusul dengan tahapan pengolahan data, proses analisis, dan deskripsi untuk menguraikan indikator efektivitas penerapan PBL. Berdasarkan analisis tentang pengalaman belajar dan strategi pengelolaan serta pelaksanaan pameran, efektivitas dan capaian peningkatan keterampilan teknis terwujud dalam hasil eksplorasi teknis yang dilakukan mahasiswa untuk menghasilkan karya yang artistik.  Sementara itu, indikator efektivitas nonteknis dicapai dari pengelolaan perencanaan dan pelaksanaan pameran oleh mahasiswa yang terlaksana dan mendapatkan atensi publik. Hal tersebut sekaligus merupakan aspek orisinalitas dari penelitian ini.

 

The Effectiveness of the Project Based Learning Model in the Exhibition of APHIC WEEK #3 'Eksplorasa' as an Achievement of Learning Outcomes in the Old Print Photography Course. Department of Photography, FSMR, ISI is the only art institution that teaches alternative photographic processes. The course for this subject is conducted using the Project Based Learning (PBL) model. However, an analysis of the effectiveness of PBL in this course, and in practical courses in general, has not been conducted. This gap is the focus that will be depicted in this research. The theory or concept used in this research is about the PBL model. The research method is a qualitative descriptive study of the Alternative Photographic Process Week (APHIC Week) #3 exhibition, "Eksplorasa," managed and participated in by the  students from batch 2021. The research stages began with data collection, including documents related to the exhibition's management, the artworks created by students, and the publication of the exhibition's organization. This is followed by data processing and analysis to describe the indicators of the effectiveness of PBL implementation. Based on the analysis of the learning experience and the strategies for organizing and conducting the exhibition, the effectiveness and achievement of improved technical skills are evident in the technical explorations undertaken by students to create artistic works. As for the non-technical indicators of effectiveness, they were achieved through the planning and execution of the exhibition by students, which was successfully carried out and garners public attention. This aspect is also an original contribution of this research.
