Refleksi Fenomena Kontradiktif Desa dan Urban dalam Karya Musik Berjudul Mantani

Ujung Zuzrilfikar

Abstract

Lingkup desa memiliki kecenderungan pola hidup agraris sebagai way of life, sedangkan pola hidup urban lebih pada sistem produksi ekonomi kapitalis.

Reflections of Rural and Urban Contradiction Phenomena in The Music Composition Entitled Mantani

ABSTRACT

Contradictions in social reality often led to conflict. These conflicts can be in the form of social conflicts, communication to land conflicts. In the current era of rural and urban phenomena, the two spheres have very different development patterns. The scope of the rural has a tendency towards an agrarian lifestyle as a way of life, while the urban lifestyle is more towards a capitalist economic production system. From the differences between these two aspects, the urgency of the problem is very important because if these contradictory phenomena rub together continuously, it will cause social inequality that is very distant and even cause physical conflict. From these contradictory phenomena, the writer uses a qualitative research method with a phenomenological approach and Alan Belkin’s foreground vs background music composition to analyze. It hoped that the artwork, in this case the musical piece from Ujung Zu, entitled Mantani, can become a snapshot of the contradictory momentum of rural and urban areas. Broadly speaking, the musical work entitled Mantani has the goal of reflecting on human thoughts about rural and urban areas, so that human thoughts are not based on a conflict perspective but on the side of humanist values that exist in both the rural and urban spheres. Based on these two things, philosophically, Mantani work offers proof that Art is Universal, or would it be more appropriate if Art is Pluralism.
