Guna dan Fungsi Tari Bedana bagi Masyarakat Etnis Arab Melayu Jambi

Etnik Arab Melayu merupakan salah satu sub-etnik Melayu Jambi.
Mayoritas mereka bermukim di Desa Seberang yang berseberangan dengan Angso Duo Kota Jambi. Bedana berupa tarian dengan iringan ansambel musik gambus berkhas Arabic telah diwarisi secara turun-temurun dari leluhur mereka. Tulisan ini mengkaji aspek guna dan fungsi tari Bedana yang telah fungsional untuk memeriahkan dan memberi suasana hiburan bagi pelaksanaan berbagai upacara berciri khas budaya Islami yang dimiliki masyarakat etnis Arab Melayu Jambi tersebut, sehingga tari Bedana menjadi identitas etnik Arab Melayu di tengah-tengah masyarakat etnis lain di Kota Jambi. Capaian tulisan ini berupa deskripsi kualitatif pada aspek guna tari Bedana sebagai pemeriah helat, hiburan, dan menjadi wadah komunikasi dalam sebuah interaksi sosial mereka. Pada sisi fungsi, tari ini berhubungan dengan aspek status sosial ekonomi masyarakat pendukung, identitas budaya, masalah keberlanjutan status budaya, dan sebagai penguat sosial budaya etnis Arab Melayu di Jambi.


Abstract
Ethnic of Malay Arab represent one of the Malay sub-ethnic of Jambi. Their Majority live in countryside defect which is beside with Angso Duo of Jambi Town. Bedana in the form of dance with music ensemble accompaniment of gambus typical of Arabic have inherit hereditaryly from their ancestor. This article study aspect use and function of Bedana dance which have functional to enliven and give entertainment amusement atmosphere to execution various ceremony have cultural special of Islami had by ethnical society of Arab Malay of Jambi, that Bedana dance become ethnic identity of medial Arab Malay of other ethnical society in Town of Jambi. This Performance Article in the form of descriptions qualitative at aspect utilize dance of Bedana as ceremonial of party, entertainment, and become the place of communications in a social interaction of them. At function side, this dance relate to social status aspect of supporter society economics, cultural identity, problem continue cultural status, and as social of ethnical culture of Arab Malay in Jambi.
