PENGARUH LATIHAN PADUAN SUARA TERHADAP LEVEL EMPATI DI MASA DEWASA AWAL

ABSTRAK
Pentingnya empati sebagai sebuah keterampilan sosial meningkatkan fokus penelitian terkait hal ini. Salah satu penelitian yang banyak dilakukan adalah mengeksplorasi peran aktivitas bermusik secara kelompok terhadap peningkatan empati individu yang terlibat di dalamnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh latihan paduan suara selama tiga bulan dengan menitikberatkan pada aspek-aspek yang dianggap mempromosikan empati terhadap level empati mahasiswa. Penelitian dilakukan pada kelompok mahasiswa di Yogyakarta (N=60) dengan desain pretest-posttest antara kelompok kontrol dan kelompok treatment. Pengukuran empati menggunakan terjemahan kuesioner Interpersonal Reactivity Index (IRI) menunjukkan tidak terdapat pengaruh latihan paduan suara terhadap level empati pada partisipan yang terlibat dalam penelitian.
ABSTRACT
The Effect of Choir Practice to Empathy Level in College Students The importance of empathy as a social skills increases the research interest in this area. Among many researches in this topic, music and its potential to promote empathy is one of the most explored. This research aim to find the effect of intensive choir training to the improvement of empathic level in college students. The research is conducted through a quantitative research in a pretest-posttest design between experiment and control group (N=60). The empathic level is measured by Interpersonal Reactivity Index (IRI) and the result shows there is no effect of choir practice to the empathic level in college students.
